About Us

At Float Tank Barrie we are passionate believers in the healing power of Floating. Since our first Float we have envisioned creating the optimal environment to share this experience and its many benefits in our hometown of Barrie Ontario.

In June 2016 we opened Float Tank Barrie. In our centre we have a Yoga Studio in which we have classes/workshops or is open to use for anyone who is floating pre or post float, and we also have FIVE Oasis Relaxation System Float Tanks. It is our absolute pleasure to bring this life changing experience to you and we look forward to Floating becoming an essential part of your health and wellness practice. We invite you to experience Float Tank Barrie Yoga and Floatation.

About floating

How Do You Float?

Floating involves lying on the surface of 10 inches of epsom salt water, inside of a floatation tank. It is a spacious environment where you  can be free from the daily overload of external stimulation. There is no gravity, touch, light, or sound. In the calm still water, your body is free to heal and your mind is free to explore.

Free from gravity - Each tank is filled with 10 inches of water and 800 pounds of epsom salts. Lying down on your back, the epsom salt-water supports and disperses your weight, allowing you to float on the surface, experiencing weightlessness.

Free from touch - The water is kept at 34.1 degrees (skin receptor neutral) which means you can no longer tell where your body ends and the water begins.

Free from sound - The tanks are insulated against sound, and with your ears just below the water, noise from the outside is unable to reach you.
Free from sight - After you shut the door, you float in total darkness. Completing your external stimuli free environment.
